Well, we are going to be grandparents again on Aug 13th or around there! Just found out today Beth and Dan are expecting a girl.. Her name will tentatively be Jayleah Dixie.

Well,here I sit with a wonderful mechanism hitched to my chest that I have to wear for 24hrs to let me know what is going on with my body!!! I have been having palpitations like crazy from every afternoon right up til i go to bed...I had had enough after last night, so today made an appt with my doctor...Well EKG showed that I have a very STRONG heart and that looked good as far as any strain or damage to my heart...whew!! Made it through that loop. Now on to have this holter monitor placed on me which is driving me crazy with all the wires and makes me itch, and imagine that she gave me the rest of the day off as everyone i spoke to is relating this to STRESS!!! ME??? NO WAY!!! So now as I sit here and normally at work i would be having palpitations like crazy, has not had even ONE!!! I do believe maybe they are right..so guess I better find a way to handle the stressers in my life to feel much better...Oh yeah I lost another 5lbs too as I havent had an appetite at all for a week..not a good way to lose but hey..didnt hurt me to lose at all!! Tomorrow before work I have to go get blood work done to also eliminate my thyroid,B12 or anything else that it could be...I requested to have cholesterol checked too...So I will keep everyone posted with the results....which im sure i wont know til next week sometime..

We went up and had dinner with Mom at the Manor for her Christmas Party....She seemed somewhat overwhelmed as there were way too many people in the dining room but she did fine. Once back in her room was much more relaxed and ready for bed!!

Thoughts during this Holiday Season

I have been doing alot of thinking lately about the season and where I am in my life right now. I dont seem to have as much to be thankful for as I should.....Dont get me wrong....Im always thankful for my family and my health but everything else doesnt feel as good to me. I know its a very sad time of the year for me missing Matthew, not being able to hold him and watch him do all the things boys his age would be doing right now. Its just that there are other disappointing things that are happening in my life right now. I feel so bad for Mark who wants to be able to give more than he is able due to his disability; which he suffers through every day, but I guess Im just not happy with my job and not feeling like I fit in at all. I try to fit in and no matter what i do or say its doesnt change a thing! Financially it really sucks right now cause I would love to give to everyone and its just not possible. I have always been able to buy for all of my family as well as my friends and well, now its not feasible..and then there is Mom whom is now 85 and not feeling well lately. She has another UTI and looks just tired out and weak. I just wish she could be herself again and be happy and be able to be independent..I know this is life and it wont happen but its just so sad...
So anyway I hope all a Merry Christmas and a Healthy Happy New Year!! God Bless....

Visit from Aunt Freda and Ginny

Aunt Freda and Ginny came down from Vt Friday to surprise Mom...We had a very nice dinner at Jan and Bobs and alot of good laughs!! Here are a couple pics I took.. There were a few sad moments when Mom and Aunt Freda looked at each other and smiled...you could see the tears coming to thier eyes...and when Mom was getting ready to go back to the Manor and she just then recognized who Ginny was..It was like she then wouldve liked to stay longer and visit with her, now knowing who she was after all this time of being together. How sad is that??? I think thats why its so important for me right now to spend as much time with her as possible as we all know she is at the age of 85...and you all know the rest. I love my mother with all my heart but I know the day is going to come and I will never be prepared to hear it as you all know it doesnt matter the age or circumstance we are never ready to let go...

Well we are thinking of selling our home and moving on the outskirts of the village. We went today and looked at single and double wides and boy were they nice! Went to see Mom last night, she was so funny! Her hair looks so good, I took off her old nail polish and we relaxed watching tv for awhile. I reminded her of her ride with her kids tomorrow night for her 85th birthday! She is very excited to go for a ride and then she requested white cake.... The CNA asked her how old she was going to be but she couldnt remember but she knew what day her bday was..Ill post pics from that this wknd for all to see..

Our 9th Anniversary at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino

Mark and I decided to go gambling and get away for the night for our Anniversary. We went to a place called The Turning Stone and it is huge and full of things to do! Prices are a little high for things but if you watch carefully you can find some less than expensive too! Unfortunatelty we didnt win or at least keep what we won....we kept on going. What the heck, we never go anywhere like that and it was fun!! Here are a few pics I took. The people you see dressed up were on stilts and some stood over 8 ft tall with them. Very beautiful place with the decor...See for yourself and tell me what you think! I hear its very beautiful around the holidays...We also attended a free concert with The Wailers (Bob Marley band) they were good too. If I can get the video to send Ill attach it too!

Overnight Stay at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital

Well Mark decided he wanted to spend a night in the hospital Wednesday night! Not really, he was one sick guy. To make a long story short; he had diverticulitis and required 2 antibiotics and will be on for 7 days.....now he is dealing with nausea from something to where he is in the bathroom at least 3 times a day getting sick....i will be glad when we are on the right track again...

Well I got together with all my friends and family for a birthday drink Friday night and had a good time...even got lucky and won $100!!! We decided to get rid of the pond in the rock garden as the pump wasnt working and it was hard to keep up with... We went and bought a Lighthouse to put in it instead and Mark has done a nice job with where he placed it. Its not quite complete as we are going to add the wood with the twine around it like you would see at the dock; I will post those pics when its done, but for now hope you enjoy what we have done so far...

Not much new to post other than we had friends down this wknd from Cheektowaga, NY ( up by Buffalo). We had a good time together enjoying each others company and going shopping at the Auburn Mall and then to Lloyds for dinner....I also got lucky and bought a pull ticket while we were out and won $100 bucks!!! Then today bought a scratch off and won another $15....havent had this much luck on awhile so Im glad...

It is a sad day for me today....it was the day that Matthew passed away 15 yrs ago, and its so sad for me to see my mother in a nursing home rather than being able to go shopping with us and sharing all the fun things at Christmas time with us by doing the baking, wrapping and just being there! Its hard holding back the tears that I feel could flow so easy today...I know she is in a great place; its just the holiday that bothers me the most! And when i see other babies or small kids it reminds me of what i missing with Matthew....I know he is much happier up in heaven with all his relatives but i miss the hugs and snuggling with him.. Even though I know it doesnt matter where he is i wish his grave was closer so I could visit it.
I went to see Mom today and they were going to have a visit from Santa today so I asked her what she was going to ask Santa for and she said, " new teeth"!! She has lost so much weight that they are feeling loose in her mouth..so funny, but such a simple request! Well, I just hope after today things will start to get brighter and the smiles can return! I hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas and a Very Healthy and Happy New Year!!!

Why is it that this time of the year it makes you feel so sad instead of happy??? I seem to still have a very hard time with Matts death even though its been 13 yrs? He would have been 18 yrs old this December 21st..hard to believe. I look at pics of him and I can still remember his smell and sure do miss the cuddling and being able to hold him. I seem to get teary at the drop of a hat this time of the year and just dont care about doing much decorating. I really have to make myself do it cause of my grandson, but also cause I know he would want me to go on with my life and not dwell on sadness but to try and be happy that he is up in heaven with grandpa, Jenna and other relatives so he isnt alone. It just doesnt seem fair that all the bad things happen around the holidays; why is that? I just wish i lived closer so I could at least go visit even though I know he is with me in spirit.. I love you Matthew and miss you dearly!!!!

Went to visit with Mom while on my break at work...she and I sang songs with the music of a lady playing old songs on the piano...her face lit up when she first heard the piano playing...seemed good to see her so excited! Yes it is a very chilly day here in Penn Yan. The rain coming down and the fresh cool air is a nice change i guess from the humidity we have had but it did feel good not to have to worry about socks,coats and hats....

8/16/07 Adventure!!!

Well let me see....where do we start.....Mark started out going in the am for a Colonoscopy which went well. He had an appt with the Orthopedic Dr. regarding the swelling in his bad leg. Well he was running late so I called to let them know and they said NO problem. Well, he got there and they said "sorry you are too late and will have to reschedule". So Mark was fine with this as he was hungry and had had a long day already....Well when he arrived home and told me he had NOT seen the Ortho doc; i got on the phone and told them who i was and asked why they told him he had to reschedule when they had already told me it would be fine? When they figured out I work in the ER here and knew Dr. Alexander, they put him right on the phone immediately and he told us to come right over! Im so glad we did because they did xrays and found Mark has a BAD femur fracture ( bone in the upper leg) and it is about to break off!! He couldnt believe it hadnt done so already, so now he is non weight bearing for 8 weeks and cant even drive!! He is going stir crazy already, but I will find him some hobbies to do to occupy his time; (I hope!!) While at this drs office he said he had been having some chest heaviness at night so that led us to the ER in Geneva for an EKG, chest xray and he also added a full body Ct to rule out the cancer or a blood clot...oh yeah; this gets better!! He had the EKG and chest xray and we waited to get the scan...to make a long story shorter; the EKG showed that he had a heart attack so that bought us a bed in the ER in Geneva to have a cardiac workup done..by this time we are so tired but had to do it..all panned out fine and they figure his heart does some funky beat once in awhile which shows he is having a heart attack when in actuality he isnt...We have since then followed up with a Cardiologist and he is going to go for a echo stress test Wed and Thursday where they stress the heart with a dye and see how he does with that...Ill keep ya updated! Pray it goes fine...

We had such a good time Saturday night...It felt so good to have Ed,Sue,Andy,Tammy, EJ ,Addison and Andys friend Arthur here with the rest of us...Everyone seemed to have such a good time laughing and dancing and just catching up on old times! We did miss having Mom be here with us though..

It was just a good time and lots of pics were taken so I am including some here...Just wish we had thought to have one taken of everyone that was here...Thanks for all of you that came and for all the wonderful food that was here as well....we shall do it again soon I hope!!

My New Go Kart!

We went out to dinner at the Rooster with Bob and Janet to celebrate our 8th anniversary...Theirs is today...We had a very good meal and good company then just came home to relax!!

Went to watch the fireworks from the Big Yates Cty Fair....they just dont seem as big as when we were younger....I can remember Gram saying, " I hate those things!" Here are a few pics I managed to catch!

A Visit to see Mom at the Manor

Mom amazed all 3 of us tonight! She is looking so much better tonight then she has in days....Levaquin the miracle drug does wonders!!! She was attentive and wide awake for the whole visit...I got her to smile pretty for the camera and then when i was done she said "I want to take more pics"....The girls are so wonderful to her at the PY Manor; they are very attentive to her needs too which is wonderful and sure does decrease the worries for us! I will add the pic as soon as I get it in my email....

My Heart Just Breaks!

I got the worst news today at work.......I found out that my neice just passed away after fighting acute myeloid leukemia for the second time!! She has always been a fighter but this time the odds were against her..My heart is so aching for Mark and the kids....wish we lived closer, i just want to reach out and give them all a BIG hug..........I really wish we could all have stayed within a close distance when we are grown up and start our own families cause you just never know...We all need to live each day to the fullest and tell someone you love them everyday. All i want to do is cry so hard but the tears are running dry right now..I know Jenna wouldnt want us to mourn but to be grateful that she wasnt in any pain and she got to celebrate with her husband of 11 yrs and spend time with her kids the night before this all happened; but it is still very hard...Jenna just want u to know that I hope I can always be as strong as you have been and you were a wonderful mother and wife! We love ya....

Decided to repaint our bedroom; sick of the rose color so went with a lt yellow.....looks white here but its really yellow! I love how it brightens up the room...

We had company this wknd....Ed,Sue, and Andy came down from VT to see Mom and everyone...We had a good time and had a cookout on Saturday evening which Mom came and spent with us. She had a good time but was very tired..Here are a few pics for u to enjoy! Like the song says: "Wish you were here"

Today we got all the mulch put around all the flowers and added just a few more! It was a beautiful day with just a slight breeze so it was nice...Here are some of the pics I took today and will add more tomorrow if I have time!

A Day with Brady!!

Mark and I had Brady overnight last night....we took him to the playground today and he had a ball..didnt want to leave! He was getting quite daring with the climbing.. He helped us out alot today raking the weeds while we were cleaning out the rockgarden for our new flowers this year! I did get all the out front beds done and some into the rock garden. I added a new red rose bush for gram/mom and a rhubarb plant...can't wait for that for those yummy pies, etc.

Mom came to PY for Mothers Day!! We had lunch at Yvonne and Donnys...Moms request was hotdogs, potato salad and ice cream!!! She ate a good lunch then was tired and ready for a snooze........Here is a pic from that day with Brooker...

Mark and I went to visit with Mom today over in Geneva where she is temporarily...She enjoyed the visit but didnt want us to leave! So sad she just wants to be closer so she can see all of us more often...we are working on it..

Well this is the almost completed deck! We still need to put up railings and one more set of stairs off the back..It measures 26x12 and cant wait to sit out and enjoy it! Stop by and take a look....

Well I thought we were headed towards Spring but did we get a BIG surprise today...When i got up today we had about 5-6" of heavy wet snow and are suppose to see another 5-10 tonight i guess...we shall see and this too shall pass!!! Here are some pics of our wonderful April snow..

Well Mom got to come to PY for Easter dinner..she ate very well and seemed to enjoy it all!! She cried tears of joy when she first came in the door but was fine...I took a pic of her with her corsage on but its in my cell and when i figure out how to put it on here Ill show you all....Well, hope everyone enjoyed this holiday as well and dont forget to take sometime to remember Grandpa as he passed away 27 yrs ago tomorrow!! Well, keep warm everyone since this Spring has been a rather chilly and snowy one! IT is around the corner I hope!!!

Went to see Mom yesterday; looks pretty good. She got her hair done on Wednesday and looks so much better, voice is getting very weak and thin.......but all in all doing good for 83 I guess!! She had her barium swallow and it showed that she is having some silent aspirations which means sometimes what she drinks goes to her stomach and sometimes to her lungs so they are sticking to the thickened liquid diet...ill keep ya updated with any changes....

Just updating since I havent in some time..Mom seems to be doing ok in the rehab place. I talked to her today and she sounded like she had been napping but sounded good. They are so good to her over there and its a very nice, clean place for her to be..thank god! Well, thats it for now...will keep ya updated too!
